There are some elements from the Showa time period in japan, as well as modern things like air conditioning units and a satellite dish. The Japanese characters on the sign read Takatsuki. A wooden door with a small fabric curtain above let’s us assume that this is a restaurant of some sort.
Junko-san prepares food in the small Japanese restaurant. It is Showa style inside, with space for only 6 customers at the counter.
I’m trying out some different pens, getting ready to start illustrating one of the next books. Here’s a drawing of my favourite restaurant in Himeji.
