I worked in social housing for over 30 years, local authorities, transfer & traditional housing associations - I'm afraid I know what I'm talking about. And you don't want to go down the trail of the hollowing out of LA finances, which pretty much started with the RTB

All those properties sold out of public ownership at massive discounts & councils restricted in spending receipts on new housing. That contributed to the supply issues. Many sold houses ended up in private rented sector & went unmaintained

RTB is one of the worst policies enacted by Thatcher, and it *has* destroyed the housing sector - it's the root cause of the housing crisis today
