far, far, far too many higher ed admins have little or no (literally none) experience in a legit faculty role before moving into admin: no serious research programs, no disciplinary publications, no teaching. they do not understand the university--they see it as a corporate entity.

Maybe no one is saying kids are relieved to hear about algebra. Maybe folks are saying even kids can find it a relief to have phones across the board go away for a little while. Maybe even middle schoolers realize that the entertainment and distraction phones provide are simultaneously exhausting.

What's kind of worse, to me, is that she didn't drink the raw milk herself. She gave it to her TODDLER. Raw milk. Milk that literally said "not for human consumption on it. To her toddler. (Who then got incredibly sick, and she surmises that she picked up campylobacter from caring for him/her.)

I'm currently back on the first book for the third (fourth?) time.

i'm in high school, it's late in the evening, maybe after play practice is over, and i'm there for the ice cream. I'm probably getting chocolate marshmallow or butter pecan. if we're goign inside to eat (as opposed to getting ice cream at the outdoor window) i'm getting fries too.
