Every year a bunch of Atari people get together, play games, mess about with old computers and consoles, eat food and attempt to be social.

They really made a lot of amazing things along with really misguided things. Where the Tramiel era Atari failed the most is that they never knew how to sell anything. Word of mouth only travels so far and whatever marketing they actual tried was just screaming into a void.

The drives are 30 megabytes each, so it can store a few photos but not many.

Yeah, they made the controller match the XEGS. It’s just the same old CX-40, but cool to have it match.

The 400 was originally going to be the replacement for the 2600. Star Raiders was being developed internally at Atari and became somewhat of a sensation but required a keyboard. Atari realized that only having the ability to sell it to those buying an 800 was limiting so the 400 got a keyboard too.
