Dude, did someone literally write β€œattract undesirables” or is that like an attempt at a joke…? 😬

If it’s Middles, I think they take drop offs for store credit so it’s just as likely someone else is swapping your books.

You can wind a contrast color of waste yarn between your stitchesβ€”so like every 3rd or 4th stitch pass the waste yarn back or front. You can then use that as a visual marker to orient up and down. It’s easiest to do while casting on, but you can do it with a tapestry needle afterwards too

Did you use vertical columns for a special reason or is that how you usually do it? Asking because I usually do horizontal rows and am interested if there’s a reason to do one over the other.

Best visual I’ve seen for Kitchener yet. Also makes it easier to visualize how to do Kitchener in pattern if you have knits and purls.

Ask Patty: Why, Oh Ply? – Modern Daily Knitting

it's stockinette. The columns look that way because of how the yarn is spun and plied. This article does a good job of describing it:

Very excited for this! Any chance you plan to also do an audiobook adaptation?

My fellow knittin’ kittens, question for you: do you unwind your balls of yarn when putting half skeins into your stash bucket, or do you let them sit in ball form? I know the former is best practice, but I am trying to justify to my lazy self just leaving them as is.

Hi! The QR code doesn’t seem to be working and the URL has dates from 2024. It might be a me-error but wanted to confirm if there is a better link?

Ohhh I like that. Did the long seed make the differences in yarn weight blend or really pop?

That is so smart. Like it’ll basically be one of the multi-weight Noro yarns when you use it

Knittin’ folks, how long/big does a yarn scrap need to be before you keep it versus trash it? I keep stuff that’s a few feet as contrast yarn for casting on, quarter skeins for scrap projects, that sort of thing, but anything shorter gets tossed or composted as appropriate.

Longtail is also the same structure in the foundation row as backwards loop but it includes a built-in knitted row on top of the foundation row.

The final structure of the CO stitches are the same, just different techniques to achieve the same effect. I’ll look and see which of my books it’s in but I have one that includes both with some detail about them, just need to find it.
