28.02.2025 22:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You can wind a contrast color of waste yarn between your stitchesβso like every 3rd or 4th stitch pass the waste yarn back or front. You can then use that as a visual marker to orient up and down. Itβs easiest to do while casting on, but you can do it with a tapestry needle afterwards too
27.02.2025 19:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did you use vertical columns for a special reason or is that how you usually do it? Asking because I usually do horizontal rows and am interested if thereβs a reason to do one over the other.

Cafes: Coffee Lab, Newport, Coralie, Reprise (has won a bunch of awards)
Bakeries: Hewn, Bennisons, Sweet Temptations
Chocolatier: Piron
Best visual Iβve seen for Kitchener yet. Also makes it easier to visualize how to do Kitchener in pattern if you have knits and purls.

17.02.2025 21:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0it's stockinette. The columns look that way because of how the yarn is spun and plied. This article does a good job of describing it:

Very excited for this! Any chance you plan to also do an audiobook adaptation?
07.02.2025 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My fellow knittinβ kittens, question for you: do you unwind your balls of yarn when putting half skeins into your stash bucket, or do you let them sit in ball form? I know the former is best practice, but I am trying to justify to my lazy self just leaving them as is.

06.02.2025 13:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi! The QR code doesnβt seem to be working and the URL has dates from 2024. It might be a me-error but wanted to confirm if there is a better link?
06.02.2025 04:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ohhh I like that. Did the long seed make the differences in yarn weight blend or really pop?
02.02.2025 21:27 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Also, go Oβs! Iβm from MD back in the day.
02.02.2025 21:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That is so smart. Like itβll basically be one of the multi-weight Noro yarns when you use it
02.02.2025 21:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Knittinβ folks, how long/big does a yarn scrap need to be before you keep it versus trash it? I keep stuff thatβs a few feet as contrast yarn for casting on, quarter skeins for scrap projects, that sort of thing, but anything shorter gets tossed or composted as appropriate.

01.02.2025 15:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The final structure of the CO stitches are the same, just different techniques to achieve the same effect. Iβll look and see which of my books itβs in but I have one that includes both with some detail about them, just need to find it.
