07.10.2025 21:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0BEST BIG CITY IN THE US 9 YEARS IN A ROW.
While critics try to paint Chicago as something to fear, the rest of the world knows the truth β this is the best big city in America.
Good to know!!
07.10.2025 21:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Public seating, interactive art, and put a couple of trees in (if they don't want to dig up sidewalk, put them in planters) but considering this is likely up to the city, I know the space will stay bare.
May be a good experiment for the guerrilla tactical urbanists? π
An adult driver angry at a child they hit with their car.
Our car culture summed up in one video.
So the American taxpayer eats it twice, once on tariffs and again on a second farm bailout. Iβm glad farmers are getting help, no one should lose their farm, but itβs remarkable how fast βsocialismβ stops being a dirty word when the checks clear in red counties.

And I didnβt realize this before:
βAt the regional level, suburb-to-suburb commutes far outnumber suburb-to-city commutesβ
Massage therapist I've been going to for years switched locations. From my house it's 30 minutes by car. Taking the CTA it's an hour and a half.
There's so much potential to make transit an attractive option for people.
Friend's baby shower will be in the burbs. Location is 7 miles from my place. By car it's 30 minutes. By transit it's over an hourπ
06.10.2025 13:38 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There are a lot of reasons we did not win today, and we will in the coming days have much more to say about what happened and whatβs next.
But for now, we want to say thank you.
Thank you for believing with us. Thank you for fighting with us. Thank you for showing up, even when things were hard.
Unfortunately, there is no shortage of people in power who have sought any excuse to abdicate responsibility to the public right of way β and, unfortunately, there are some who did not make good on their word for a program they claimed to support.
And so today, we did not win.
Today was a very difficult day.
Almost 5 years ago, the #PlowTheSidewalks campaign was born out of frustration from a problem that we were determined had a solution β and one that unites us all in the winter.
RTA is expected to magically cut the fiscal cliff in more than half today. Labor says itβs smoke and mirrors to distract from reform efforts.

This is called reverse engineering
Nothing moves large numbers of people across a major city quite as well as public transit.
But cycling can provide some relief when transit is down. It can fill in many of the gaps.
Hereβs BIXI preparing for the transit strike in Montreal this week, all over downtown.
Soooo.....when can we get some movement on single stair legislation in Chicago?
