Nothing like having a rookie contribute to a magical season culminating with a WS championship

If you had asked me in the 90s β€œdo you know who sang β€˜you left me just when I needed you most’?”, based on a foggy memory I think I would’ve responded β€œwas it Anne Murray?”

Also remembering how iconic the WB shield was on vinyl labels, which Warner Music is no longer allowed to use

Haha thanks! In the late 70s and 80s I always tossed the shrink because I had been told it warped albums. Now I collect hype stickers whenever I can, but this one does not have one.

In the summer of β€˜81 my folks and I vistited family in Atlanta. Z93 was my cousin’s favorite station. I specifically remember listening to #AT40 as we left town. I know it was this week beaches I remember Double Dutch Bus at #30

Looking up the soundtrack I’m reminded of how Yoko Ono included Ween’s 12 Golden Country Greats and her top 10 list of 1996 albums.

I will have to put MC on my short list of films to see

I’m really looking forward to rereading this.

One thing that’s striking me is how for most of my childhood I thought of Green Onions as a 1950s song because it was on the American Graffiti soundtrack. When the film was released a few months after Dark Side Of The Moon, Booker T. Jones was only 28

My introduction to Steve Cropper was in the Blues Brothers. My first internet purchase was for this Best of Booker T. & the M.G.’s CD Johnny Taylor-Wanted CD. The latter has one of my favorite Cropper co-compositions: Just The One I’ve Been Looking For (an uncharted b-side).
Rest easy, Steve

Dave Dexter is often a villain in the Beatles’ Capitol/US history, but I like what he did with RS - especially pulling I’ve Just Seen A Face & It’s Only Love from the middle of Help side 2 & placing each in a more prominent album side lead track

One of my holy grails I doubt I’ll ever pick up is this US original variant on the purple & brown label. It only came from one pressing plant in Indianapolis - many think Atco labels were mistakenly used
