I’m a little late to the party. It took me 25 years, but I finally got around to reading Michael Chabon’s “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.” This book is brilliant.

Kenner Star Wars Death Star Space Station playset

The was the hot toy in 1978! Although the action figures of Han and Luke in stormtrooper armor are fiction. I remember really wishing Kenner made figures like those. They eventually did make them, but not until long after my action figure collecting days were over.

El Barto strikes again!

We did the Champlain Area Trails Grand Hike today. The full hike is about 16 miles, but if you take advantage of a few shortcuts (which we did) the route is cut to a still-respectable 8.62 miles. The rain stopped just in time for the hike to begin. The temperature was perfect. Best of all—no bugs!

If you told me I’d one day I’d be singing Led Zeppelin on stage at the Egg Performing Arts Center, I never would’ve believed it. Can’t wait to get started on our next Rock Voices season — all one-hit wonders!

Why travel to the center of the galaxy when you can find heaven in Ticonderoga?

Obviously, I’ve liked some more than others. But I’ve enjoyed almost all of them. There’s really only been 2 or 3 that I’ve been quite disappointed with.

I don’t know if I hate it (although many people do) but it’s one of my least favorites. Just about the only good thing was the villain played by Jonathan Majors. This movie was supposed to set him up as the next Thanos-level bad guy. But Marvel cut ties with Majors after his legal troubles.

The first two Ant-Man movies are a lot of fun. But if you enjoyed those, I would suggest maybe skipping the third installment

Billy Joel gets his first Top 40 hit today in 1974 with “Piano Man”.

“I have no idea why that song became so popular,” he said years later. “I was shocked and embarrassed when it became a hit. But my songs are like my kids, and I look at that song and think: 'My kid did pretty well.'"

I ran a CD cleaner through it multiple times, to no avail. I tried taking it apart, but I can’t get to the laser lense without doing major surgery. I tried to get in there as best I could with an air blower. Still no good. Anyone have any suggestions? 2/2
