City Council Staffer Denied Bond, Deemed ‘Danger to Society’ Immigration Judge Charles Conroy denied the release of a City Council data analyst whose arrest by ICE last month provoked widespread outrage.

The City Council staffer arrested by ICE at an asylum interview was denied bond by an immigration judge this morning.

“There’s pressure in this case to not release my client because he works for the City Council,” attorney Roger Asmar told THE CITY. “It’s all political.”

The bottom line is that we're encroaching on people's safety and human rights over paperwork issues; the functional equivalent of an expired car registration. We must keep pushing until the paradigm has changed, utterly.

The thing where ICE parks masked men in school lots is something I would not have believed unless I saw it with my own two eyes. They do it constantly. It’s purely a terror tactic and they’ve done it to schools over the region. Our schools are collapsing - often at 50% attendance or less.
