To be blunt, these adjectives du jour are never novel observations/critiques. Theyโve been addressed countless times, not just here but over the past few years.
Your refusal to engage is an active effort to *avoid* understanding, in a way that one might describe as โunable to be reasoned with.โ
You know how itโs frustrating when you post a nuanced, fact-based argument and the right just goes โnah, I think otherwiseโ?
Thatโs you rn
Might be important to ask yourself why itโs so difficult (apparently, bc you havenโt done it) to engage with any of the people pushing back on โunreasonableโ
There is no going back to 2019, and the harms of SARS-CoV-2 are extremely well-documented and clear. Yes, even in 2025, and yes, even vaccinated.
We all have 2 options right now:
(1) wear a respirator, or
(2) wish we did
I choose #1 every day. Itโs not fun but itโs what this moment requires
Moderna: โYour risk of #LongCOVID rises with each additional infection. A recent study has shown that by their third COVID infection, patients have a 40% chance of developing Long COVID symptoms.โ
Nope not a small amount, you just perpetually readjusted what you consider normal.
And itโs not โalarmists predictingโ itโs โstudies showing.โ 40% odds but keep gambling ๐
2025 study entitled "Long COVID in Young Children, School-Aged Children, and Teens". Text reads: "Long COVID happens when a child continues to have symptoms lasting at least 3 months after a SARS-CoV-2 infection. Some children have COVID-19 symptoms that do not go away, while others might feel better but later develop new symptoms. Sometimes, symptoms can come and go. Long COVID can affect any child, even if they had mild or no symptoms when they had COVID-19. Long COVID is common, affecting up to 10% to 20% of children with a history of COVID-19. With almost 6 million US children potentially affected, this is higher than the number of children with asthma, the most common chronic health problem in children. What Symptoms Should I Look for? Long COVID can impact many body parts, and its symptoms can last for months or years. It can severely affect daily activities and emotional well-being, such as playing or attending school."
Long COVID - which didnโt exist just a few years ago - is now the leading chronic illness in kids. You know, the little humans weโre supposed to protect?
When should we start caring? 7 million chronically ill kids? 10 million?

Anddd infectious diseases unaside - thereโs orders of magnitude more COVID now than in 2020, itโs fucking us up internally
Yes even in 2025
Yes even vaccinated
I guarantee that if ๐ was known pre-rollout, we all would have said fuck no thatโs a raw deal give us something better
Last November every single big account was tweeting โdOnโT cOmPlY iN aDvAnCe!โ
Not bad advice but thereโs new facial ID software everyday, they just allocated $170B to the secret police, the bad guys from lord of the rings are reshaping society and Iโm just here like*
Even symbolically, it makes clear โI understand thereโs a problem, and Iโm part of the solution.โ
Ik 2020โs been largely memory-holed, but there was persistent collective unity in that moment that we havenโt come close to since
Itโs honestly baffling to me that leftists and liberals havenโt started wearing respirators/masks again
Infectious diseases aside, itโd be strong, visible, unifying action to take against a rapidly escalating surveillance state
Wait did yโall see this?! Why isnt this all over the news??
โโฆisnโt merely a respiratory illness; itโs a multi-dimensional threat impacting brain function, attacking almost all of the bodyโs organs, [โฆ], and weakening our ability to fight off disease.โ

If ur not masking rn during an ongoing pandemic you believe this eugenic ideology btw, whether you want to admit it or not. If ur not masking youโre ok with infecting and killing/disabling those around u by spewing Covid all over, so mask tf up and donโt talk abt eugenics if ur contributing to it

The text reads, "National COVID-19 metrics in the U.S. reported slight declines this week, indicating that weโre still in a moderate disease period between surges. SARS-CoV-2 levels appear to be trending back down in the Northeast following recent increases. Even in these โlower-riskโ periods, COVID-19 still causes hundreds of deaths each week. The CDCโs burden estimates do not account for Long COVID. The Trump administration is trying to pretend COVID-19 is no longer a threat. In the latest horrors, the administration replaced federal websites like COVID.gov with a page about the lab leak theory, and ordered federal agencies to take down any signs related to COVID-19. Masking up and taking other public health precautions are clear ways to resist these actions."

It includes estimated illnesses, medical visits, hospitalizations, and deaths, each represented as a range of potential burden and identified with icons. COVID-19 estimates: 8.6 million to 14.6 million illnesses, 2.1 million to 3.5 million medical visits, 240,000 to 400,000 hospitalizations, 28,000 to 47,000 deaths. Flu estimates: 46 million to 81 million illnesses, 21 million to 36 million medical visits, 600,000 to 1.3 million hospitalizations, 26,000 to 130,000 deaths.
