The Commission proposal for the next long-term EU budget aka MFF just dropped. Its overall volume increases very moderately, but the proposal contains sweeping changes to the way the EU spends money and to budget's priorities.

Here is my first quick take:

At its core is a €700 billion pledge to import U.S. fossil fuels and nuclear energy over the next three years - fundamentally incompatible with the EU’s 2030 climate targets.

On this topic: we will be publishing next week a study that estimates how Social Climate Fund and ETS2 can help reach the RES target in H&C using heat pumps. (with a simplified model, but it does the trick). stay tuned!
