To clarify, my parents are in outer Queens. Dad always had to have a car because he worked nights in an industrial area where bus service was sparse. My Mom has never learned to drive and wants to be able to walk to stores to get what she needs. They drive to the doctor and outside the city.

My parents are in their upper 70s with multiple age related disabilities. Like most houses in their neighborhood, they lack a private driveway. My mother has fought to stay there instead of going to suburbia because she can still walk to the store in case my father is incapacitated.

I am not sure where the debate is here? I use transit. I am not going to stop using transit. It is the MTA who controls what platforms get Wi-Fi and they decided it was too costly to install. I don’t want them to go ahead with this auto-activate policy for those of us who plan ahead. That is all.

The LIRR and Metro North do not have Wi-Fi on all platforms.

They just revoked 300 international student visas, effective immediately.

They revoked her visa for improperly declared frog samples and instead of letting her return to France to reapply for a visa to the US, they threw her in ICE detention in Louisiana.

I can't watch this and say nothing. The arrest of people lawfully here because of things they have said is nothing short of creating a new class of political prisoners.
