In 1929 the big Dutch department store chain V&D tried to buy the Van der Pigge chemist in the Dutch city of Haarlem.
But their offer was declined so they had to build around the little building.
Some years ago V&D went bankrupt.
Van der Pigge is still doing great!

Which Horeb? There was a Horeb chapel in Loughor. Not attended by my family ,who were strict Welsh Baptists, even though they lived on the bottom of the road that this chapel was on.

So I retired from the NHS today and I think that means I've missed another NHS reorganisation. There have been plenty in the NHS in the past 45 years.
