I know a lot of people are already spreading this info, but hoping to spread it a little further: donating to a food bank, food pantry, or food distribution mutual aid group is really important right now, as TFG and the fucking GOP are shutting down snap benefits on November 1. I'll link to a few

since august iβve been working in a publishing lab & iβm gaining SO much respect for designers; there are so many aspects to book creation that most writers donβt think aboutβnot just cover art, but also like. paper thickness, text formatting, the evil beast that is indesign. designers do so much :)

Weβre Witnessing the Fall of Public Healthβ¦ and Your Best Tool is a Mask
Measles in Texas, bird flu in Louisiana, tuberculosis in Kansas and Covid everywhere. Public health has been dying a slow death for years, we canβt count on it anymore. What can we count on? A mask!
If you want to fight fascism? Wear a mask.
If you want to show solidarity with disabled people? Wear a mask.
If you want to protect your own health? Wear a mask.
If you recognize that no one is coming to save us? Wear a mask.

To engage in resistance, you need to engage in acts of resistance. π§ͺ
You DO NOT NEED TO:
1. Sign up to attend a protest
2. Use your real name if you must sign up for something (any list you sign is insecure)
3. Use your work email address (don't)
Don't trust anyone telling you that you have to

If you use AI to create your writing, I canβt guarantee youβll never be caught. You may even cobble together something an editor wonβt distinguish from writing a human produced. But what I can guarantee you is this: that will the hollowest of victories for the smallest and most fleeting of gains.

I strongly advise you to get this into your mind and then to try and drill it into the minds of everyone you know. Do not comply in advance. These hateful authoritarian lunatics are incompetent and stupid. They are relying on you treating them with respect and compliance to achieve anything

Please do not use AI generated illustrations for your posts, blogs, etc. I prefer no pics or crappy clipart or whatever to obviously AI generated stuff. If you post AI generated pics I will most likely block you.
Why? AI pics are hella bad for the environment AND are built on the use of stolen art.
