Hell, in the 2012 list two of the cards (geist and thrun) couldn't even be targeted! It was almost exclusively for hosing cheat strategies or bouncing your own things

doing a bit of research for a vid I'm working on and apparently the original 2012 Holiday Vintage Cube had 12 legendary creatures out of 215 total (with seven being ramp/cheat payoffs) while the 2025 Arena Cube has 58/203 (with seven being ramp/cheat payoffs)

Just finished a first watch and really enjoyed it. The plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense but the vibes are great. Some fantastic 🎷 in that soundtrack, and the rest is a john carpenter-style synth and some terrible Xmas music remixes. Oh! And a sicko jazz/bluesy number with a lady singer

Arctic Eggs was frustrating and fun. Weird vibes and funny dialogue. Streaming it reminded me of octodad

Happy Game was a disappointment. It lacked the world building, characters, and epic fable-type conclusion of their other games I've played. You just navigate some edgy scenes and it ends. Like if the Mickey Mouse short The Mad Doctor was a game. Their usual art quality and surrealism is there.

The new powered cube has been a refreshing change of pace. I’ve gone from losing to Boros on MTGO to losing to Boros on Arena

Wolf AU, One Finger DP I enjoyed but they're both inflated from being left open (One Finger intentionally, it's a good minimize for later game). A few are from my ex playing on my account (trigger h, skyrim, dangan r2)

aiming to play 3/4, starting with Happy Game and then polling chat after that. Also open to outside spooky game suggestions (especially with cool art/story) but it's nice to have a runtime that fits within the stream (both Carrion and another Look Outside run appeal to me but they're slightly long)

Powered Cube can be so fast and swingy! A smaller entry fee would be less feel bad for arena players trying it out

FOR THE RECORD: There have been rumors. Now I will clear it up and be as unambiguous as possible. The Magic: The Gathering release The Dark was 100% a commentary on the evils and hypocrisy of bigoted right wing Christians. Having gone through the idiotic satanic panic of the 80s and then listening to their moronic and unfounded pearl clutching arguments that MTG promoted "devil worship", I had had enough and decided to hold a mirror up to them. That is why White is represented as dangerous, dogmatic and unempathetic in the set. White in The Dark glorifies ignorance, mob mentality and violence against those who are different. The truth is that people who view themselves as virtuous and righteous can be as deadly and dangerous as any blood sacrificing devil cult when they forget the message of love that is supposed to be the foundation of their belief system. We can see that replaying today with MAGA. I also wanted to paint spooky stuff. Two birds, one stone. Now you know. If you go back and look at the white cards in The Dark it will become crystal clear what the meaning of the set is. The Dark was a reference to the dark ages, when the church had full control of the population, when wise women and folk healers were burned as witches, education was only for the very elite and anyone who spoke up or strayed from the herd was killed in horrific ways. Even today people are trying to bring those dark days back. I was shining a light on them with this set. That is one of the important roles art plays in society and I view games as an artform.
