It's incredibly scary right now. We could all do with a credible spiritual anchor, where we are religious or not. That's why I wrote this little bookβ¦

27.02.2025 09:06 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Whilst training to be a priest (30 years ago! π€¦πΌββοΈπ), I spotted that all theological questions boil down to βwho says?β. Where do we invest authority and our trust in it? At that point the atheist germ in me began to metastasise.

Born in the chaos of the collapse of the Roman Empire, there is real wisdom to carry id through present upheavals.

Itβs good to be here! Iβm David, Iβm a husband and father in a fabulous blended family. Iβm a writer, thinker, celebrant, who is fascinated by the human condition. Iβm progressive with radical and less radical bits; proudly woke and looking to meet and interact with kind people. βπ»π

08.02.2025 19:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Peace of Wild Things Wendell Berry When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
I read this on dark days for a little solace.
