Good morning! Iβm back on Cape Cod, very jet-lagged. For starters, a quick video showing you where I am for a bit of context.
Iβll share this morningβs #OceanDevotion in my next post in a moment.
Well, I just got back to Outer Cape Cod. Stopped to take in the view from White Crest.
#OceanDevotion videos will resume tomorrow morning. π
#OceanDevotion is on a short pause while Iβve been in beautiful Brisbane for a couple of days and while I travel back to the USA.
The next ocean videos will be from Outer Cape Cod!
Good morning! My second last day here in Noosa, so I went for a sunrise hike in my beloved Noosa National Park to bring you todayβs #OceanDevotion:
Iβll be sharing more from the park this week, so stay tuned.
Line graph time series of 2025's daily Arctic sea ice extent compared to each year from 1979 to 2024 as shown with thin lines in colors from purple to white. There is large daily variability, but a long-term decreasing trend during all months of the year. A seasonal cycle is also visible in this region.
Astonishingly, sea ice still hasn't started to reform over the Barents Sea area yet of the #Arctic. This includes record low conditions around Svalbard as well. It's been a very bad few months across the region.

While I was in Rockhampton for a very sad occasion, I did manage to see some fantastic sights yesterday.
Drove to the top of Mt. Archer then out to the coast to Emu Park, lunch at Rosslyn Bay, then farther along the coast. Many islands out there!
Green hills and blue sky with some fluffy clouds, eucalyptus trees
Iβm on a train, north from Cooroy to Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia, and you can come too.

A line graph shows the time series of Arctic mean surface temperature anomalies for each October from 1850 through 2025. There is a long-term increasing trend and large year-to-year variability. The mean surface temperature anomaly in October 2025 was 3.78Β°C for this region. Anomalies are computed relative to a 1910-2000 climate baseline. All data is from NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI NOAAGlobalTemp v6.0.0 on this graphic.

Was there any coverage of the recent record warmth in both the Arctic and Antarctic? Multiple global datasets now confirm these records, and I think it's really quite striking.
Here's some very quick plots showing NOAAGlobalTempv6 data from October too. And see my earlier posts.
Good morning! Interesting patterns in the waves today where the Noosa River meets the Pacific Ocean, known as the Noosa bar, a notoriously dangerous/tricky spot for boaters.
