Journal page 1336 [pdf page 35] starts a good discussion on the responsibility tensions you highlight.
I do hope the other poster didn't mean Unions at large
Who's sneering? I support most unions. I can also criticize ineffective unions that use their perceived value as cover for poor leadership. (See UFCW) Besides-- the above post was laying blame at the feet of boys-club police unions, which they were absolutely correct about.

17.02.2026 02:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Unions aren't good by virtue of simply meeting the definition of a union. That's like saying "Drugs are generally used to treat medical conditions. Drugs are good"
17.02.2026 01:40 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Poster for Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter shows in black and white a hooded figure menacing a young woman, the figure of Kronos coming to the rescue, and in the background a man and a woman holding a large cross, and a large house with bats flying around. The name of the film is written in red, there is a red border, and in red at the top the tagine 'The only man alive feared by the walking dead.'
Tonight's ๐ฝ A revisit to glorious late-period Hammer horror Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1974, dir. Brian Clemens). Horst Janson and Caroline Munro lead a great cast including John Carson. It's brilliantly, thrillingly weird, stuffed full of beautiful frames, black humour, action and invention.

Been a wee bit overwhelmed lately. I just wanted to get myself to paint something, anything today. Maybe have some fun with an abstract background.

I used a dip pen to acrylic ink my latest gouache landscape-- and somehow, somehow, I didn't spill, splatter, bleed, or print the ink anywhere. Absolutely stunned.
Am I ready to make a comic book page? Probably not, but that won't stop me from trying!

Reminds me of the liberal private school I went to for a year-- which responded to the school bully stealing someone's skateboard with, you guessed it, buying him a skateboard.
He sold the skateboard.
