You know what else would save millions of lives? Billionaires paying a fair % of wealth in taxes, to fund life-saving programs like SNAP, health care, FEMA, USAID, etc, etc, etc

Each of the issues you name as the cause of poverty in DRC is, itself, caused by the greed of the super rich so, yeah, billionaires are the cause of poverty in DRC. Those billionaires just happen to live outside the DRC.

Also, no billionaire is "self-made". He owes his wealth to the workers, and to the government systems that allowed him to get rich (patent protection, government contracts, transportation infrastructure, trade laws, police/fire protection, etc) without which his fortune would have been impossible.

Why will having billionaires pay fair % of their wealth as tax "kill the golden goose"? You're saying a billionaire giving up a portion of his income that he wont notice/that won't change his life at all, is going to drive him away. What kind of A-hole acts like that?
