Seemed to lose momentum after we scored. Chat barely touched the ball. Possibly unfortunate to lose the game overall.

Recovering from Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome, lower limb disabilities, still cycling. Raising money to help me walk again, see link http://bit.ly/4lFemDt

01.12.2025 23:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why have they installed a gate? Good practice is to have a gap.
28.11.2025 14:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0War doctor by David Nott describes how victims of snipers would be admitted with the same wounds on different days. People would be shot in the leg one day then the arm the next, etc etc. He says it was clear that a game was being played.

Ultimately the resignations are for poor standards of editorial policy on news programmes. The BBC should concentrate on facts, rather than the views of people.
09.11.2025 19:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Spent the day measuring barriers and gates as part of a #disability review. Size and design of barriers varies, even on the same path. Gaps are preferable to gates and 1.5m should be the legal minimum.
09.11.2025 11:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I know that If any part of a car encroaches into a disabled bay it will be ticketed in Richmond, even if the wheels are do not encroach. Assume the same principle would apply for pavement parking, it's whether the authority chooses to enforce.
26.10.2025 10:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We had a street party once and I spoke to some neighbours who I thought cycled. I got them to respond in support of a cycle hangar I'd requested. It was installed on some double yellows, so no loss of parking. I'm sure there were objections, but enough support in the street to get it.

16.10.2025 14:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's me and the family in the video. As chair of a Richmond transport and mobility forum for people with disabilities, we recently discussed the renewal of the Lime bike contract. According to Lime's website 8% of users have a disability. Would also be good to see adapted bikes added.

13.10.2025 14:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So much of the conversation about cycling assumes two wheels and lycra. But itβs far broader. For many Disabled people, cycling is mobility. Trikes, recumbents, handcycles, e-bikes, tandems can be aids to freedom and independence.
13.10.2025 13:50 β π 26 π 10 π¬ 2 π 0Hi, some similarities. I've been advised by a doctor to have a bka on the right and an ankle fusion on the left. I have drop foot and had a trans met amputation on the right. I've been told a prosthetic will be more functional. Interested to see how you get on.
11.10.2025 09:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you install more benches any ASB will be spread over a bigger area and more locations. If you just have one bench then the chances of it being used in an anti social way would increase.

03.09.2025 12:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0When a green space links to grey I've noticed that it's also council officers that default to say there must be some barrier. Mostly it's about covering themselves if something happens.

A poorly designed footpath. The need to use every inch of space to provide parking for vehicles at the expense of a safe footway.

She is drawn with light brown skin and long brown hair in a ponytail and wearing a dark blue dress that comes close to her knees. She is wearing sunglasses and reaching forward, holding onto the handlebar of the power add-on. The front casters of her orange-coloured wheelchair are lifted slightly by the light blue power add-on. Behind the lightweight wheelchair, a quite large bag is visible hanging down behind the back of the wheelchair.
Screenshot of a tweet from Simon Lightwood MP. Jul 21. "Everyone deserves safe, accessible transport. Thatβs why weβre extending e-scooter trials to 2028 and expanding them to new towns to learn how best to regulate them. Weβre also looking at our mobility aid laws so disabled people can use the devices they need for independence." Accompanied with a photo, the alt text for which was "Hire escooters parked in a line in a designated parking area", image attribution Department for Transport.
"The current regulations are nearly 40 years old and do not account for the devices people need to use".
Find out why weβre so excited that the Government has announced it's planning to review mobility aid law to make it fit for purpose.
