Ending Crime and Disorder on America's Streets By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered: Section 1.ย  Purpose and

This is an executive order that lays the groundwork for sending homeless people and people with mental illness to concentration camps to be "civilly committed." It was never going to stop with immigrants.

This is horrifying beyond words.

Inside SFโ€™s shelter strategy shift What does the mayor mean by the โ€œright beds?โ€

It's difficult for people with untreated substance use disorders to stay in shelters because addiction doesn't allow you to "stop on a dime,โ€ says Dr. Margot Kushel.

โ€œIt looks like theyโ€™re refusing shelter", when, in fact, โ€œtheyโ€™re telling you โ€˜that doesnโ€™t meet my needs.โ€™โ€

The entire National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) team at SAMHSA was terminated today.

Do not listen to the platitudes of this administration when they say they care about drug overdose, addiction, mental health, or suicide.

The US leads wealthy nations in maternal mortality. Homicide is a leading cause of death for pregnant ppl. The NIH just defunded key research on the nexus of domestic violence/maternal mortality

Really want to emphasize the person responsible for thisโ€”RFK Jrโ€”is an alleged sexual assailant

This is beyond sad. I was a NIDA summer intern in 2012 with many other brilliant students, and it started my career path as a health services researcher. It is a great program that provided housing for the summer, a stipend, and allowed me to gain invaluable experience.

This is part of an ominous trend. Studies like the YRBS help us understand health issues, guide our ability to respond to themโ€”& are essential to our nationโ€™s health & safety. Ignorance is not bliss, but dangerous. Government censorship of the truth isโ€ฆwell, you know.

Why should the public care about the freeze on the NIH? Aside from the need for scientific pursuits to make our society betterโ€ฆ
-For every dollar we invest in NIH research, there is a $2.5 return.
-Research dollars help fund universities that employ non-academics. (1/)

All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.
