More generally, while punching hippies with lawyers is always going to be popular, I do think "let's make everything cheaper and faster" probably has some tradeoffs, labor and otherwise, worth considering. I'll be picking up the book, of course.

One element of the New Deal political economy seemingly missing thus far is labor. Easy to see why — unions can make things more expensive and create production and policy bottlenecks. But we won't have broadly shared prosperity and economic agency in America without empowering the American worker.
