Which is a bit of a problem because if you enjoy the experience up the to point where you would get money BECAUSE you don't get money, the next logical step is "where can I play this and win money" and the answer for GA is "every gas station and some grocery stores"

I agree with the case you've described here generally, but I bring up Dave and Busters because they switched to point cards a long time ago where you load up Credits and treat it like a debit card, and (in some games) that actual experience of play is indistinguishable from gambling until payout.

Like again I realize there's at least some greater limits on it and you can't literally cash out, but if someone gets conditioned to appreciate that thrill of a random jackpot, barring someone stopping them it's really not a huge leap to the video lottery arcades that are in like EVERY grocery store

Those skill stop games like "Cyclone" are more of a grey area imo because ideally a skilled player COULD just keep winning over and over but that would require me to think the manufacturer didn't rig it, and having grown up with both these and mobile games I'm just not sure I can extend that trust
