It's more like re-categorizing things that were not sufficiently categorized before. A group like 764 has fundamentally different goals than a group like Patriot Front. They are both bad, but they are bad in different ways and need to be addressed through different means

The term was not created by the FBI though, it was created by Researchers. And if the FBI wants to investigate leftists, the title of NVE gives them zero additional tools

Your correct that most NVE's are right wing, or at least express those ideas, but the types of violence they commit and the children they hurt are not in the advancement of an ideological cause. This differs significantly from the goals of Racially Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVE's)

Then start to think about all the food places near those offices, the gas stations, the corner stores, coffee shops. Everytime you cut an entire office or department, you cut customers out of these places.

Every time you make cuts to a department or federal agency, you don't just remove the "deep state employees." You also impact every contractor connected to them. The janitors, the snack machine guys, the company selling them office supplies, etc

Fewer people coming here means fewer hands to do the work. This means less work getting done, by fewer people, driving prices up. Combine that with mass layoffs and cuts to the federal government (and the knock on effects) and you start to see why the Jobs Report was so bad.

If the average voter does not believe that a candidate is progressive, that's a messaging issue on the part of the candidates campaign, not on the part of the voting public. You work with the electorate you have, not the one you want.

If we take this at face value, how do you account for AOC being so popular, as a woman of color, among a voting block that is bigoted and misogynist?

The point remains that these are voters who can be reached by the Democratic party if they adjust their campaign strategies
