Super effective timing on this because @ashrowan.design just posted this illustration on IG which is now my new favorite dinosaur: itโs going be perfect for that pocket!

There is no budget "deal" to be made
President Trump has so broken the constitutional framework as to make joint normal, responsible government impossible.
If appropriations bills are not seen as enforceable contracts, why should any Member of Congress vote to fund any part of the federal government under Donald Trump? You're voting to provide money for lawlessness. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/there-is-n...

(It was, unsurprisingly, my favorite song on the album)

Utah loves Trump. It didnโt stop him from taking a chainsaw to one of its largest employers.
What happened when Elon & Co. started slashing?
โI saw several co-workers who were walked out, crying, saying, โHow could he do this? I voted for him!โโ --What happened when DOGE came for one of this Trump-loving area's largest employers--the IRS. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

A diagram of a structure built out many multi sized blocks. The structure is described โa decades old theory.โ At the base of the structure, is a block that holds up nearly the entire structure that, if removed, would cause the collapse of the structure. This heroic block is labeled โbackground assumption no-one is aware ofโ
โฆItโs a lot like this favorite diagram of mine only instead of โdecades old theoryโ itโs โtechnical informationโ and instead of โbackground assumption no one is aware ofโ itโs โbasic information expert has forgotten that not everyone already knowsโ

โฆThe challenge then is that experts often become unaware of the smaller individual discrete knowledge in their chunks and therefore do not break their bigger chunks down into smaller byte sized parts for the non-expertsโฆ

Cognitive chunking: The more technical knowledge and expertise you have, the more you tend to bind smaller discrete technical information into bigger chunks. The whole rather than parts becomes easier to remember for the expertโฆ en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chunkin...

The story of 2024 is this: Trump had a plan to destroy American government called Project 2025, which had, literally, not a typo, a 4% approval rating. He lied constantly and said he wouldn't do it.
Then he entered office and immediately implemented AN EVEN MORE EXTREME VERSION OF IT.

โฆwe studied Nauvoo era Mormonism for a week and I wrote my course paper on JSmithโs development of the concept of Mormon Zion and the takeaway question I had (and still gave) from that class was: is Mormonismโs โZionโ truly utopian? In Arch school, I took a history class on utopian communities. We differentiated utopias from other visionary communities based on whether or not the community differed from the status quo in some way. (Utopias changed some aspect of the status quo while visionary comma extended the status quo)โฆ

And even then, Danโs work isnโt focused much on the sort of the traditional prophetic things dealing with societal actions as it is more focused on the specific issue of scriptural interpretation (this is a good thing). Maybe Mr. Roger would be an even better example of todayโs charismatic prophet?
