I’m 3 classes in, with 2 of the 6 requirements done. By the end of the next academic year I will have all 6 done and can take the candidacy course to write my proposal. Lots of ideas, but no firm topic. Reading a lot of Hannah Arendt. I think she would have lots to say about what’s going on today.

I’m taking it on vacation to Sequoia next week with the boys. I figure I can skim it while they sleep in and I get my coffee. No syllabus posted yet so I don’t know what we’ll be reading in it.

I’m really looking forward to it. I have spoken to her a few times at social events as she is also involved with the Hate Studies Institute here at Gonzaga. She also teaches the phenomenology and existentialism course.

Got my booklist for Leadership Ethics in the fall. Nicomachean Ethics and Kant’s Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Morals. I’ve read Aristotle. Several times but it is always new. Kant’s old English syntax is a little hard to comprehend. Do you know Roisin Lally, my instructor?

Here’s another perspective. Any senior intelligence officer who is answering phone calls from someone not already in their contact list from a phone number they do not recognize is not very professional. I’ve been retired a while now and I still don’t answer phone calls that I don’t recognize.
