Look there’s plenty of talent there, but there’s also plenty of reasons why he didn’t get a deal *and* got waived after *not* getting a team to trade for him.

He’s a bucket, no doubt. What else does he offer? What else does he take away?

Kofie is 100% right. This is an awful look (at best). Giannis himself isn’t even the root problem; he’s responding to the incentives available to him.

Remove the incentives and people stop doing nonsense like this, which presents a real risk to a great many people that can’t afford it.

Quick check on Ryan Rollins (who’s quietly putting up 16/5/5 on OK shooting with 1.5 steals) — he’s on track to play 2x his minutes from last season (and might crack 2k total) and his usage has increased by 5 points…but his efficiency has mostly stayed the same.

Rollins is a real piece.

They can fix that anytime, as soon as they finally realize that they have to.

To be clear, Ousmane Dieng might not be an NBA player. 3.5 seasons,< 2000 total minutes played, advanced stats say he’s a net-negative on O and neutral on D (all in OKC).

But Bucks are taking a flier on a 6’9” forward who has a lot of tools and might be a late bloomer. For 2 min guys, I’m satisfied

Ousmane Dieng is MUCH more interesting for the Bucks.

A future 2nd might have been nice, but taking an extended look at an NBA-level backup center while also sorting out your other bigs during a lost season isn’t worthless.
