I’m now quite aware of how long it’s been since I served my wife breakfast in bed 😅

For context, reformed plotter, now pantser all the way.
Huge fan of following the main character, especially if she’s relentless. A dip into other characters can be a fun break, but I just love that perspective rigor.
I no longer aim for breaks into acts, but they happen organically🤷‍♀️

I’ve always loved the image of a lotus rising above the swamp.

Sometimes the swamp is a cluttered house, a drunk Dad, a missing Mom.

Piling on, I love my second draft, most of it. I thought I loved my first draft until I had to read it 😅
It’s just a way to find out what the story might be, who the characters might be.
There’s always some balance between feeling like a fraud and feeling like a god 🤓

Typos are just a way of saying you’re an individual, not a person with a team of editors😅

I’m not trying to be preachy, but my stuff is saturated with who I am and what I think. So of course it’s all there.

For writing, I’ve really enjoyed the community when various writing pit hashtag events are going on. I love reading other folks’ writing and getting feedback at the same time. But I’ve also seen those as activity spikes surrounded by otherwise random feeds 🤷‍♀️

My draft one was packed with adverbs. I just wanted to capture the story. My draft two, I’m only keeping the ones that add value. But that’s my style, at least for this novel. I wouldn’t recommend my process to anyone 🤣😅😬
