The worst part of them is you have to fasten the collar two-fingers tight. I’m always scared to overdo it, and the collar always ends up too loose and slipping.

I know e-collars have a bad rep, but an e-collar with a vibrate function can give you that connection. You’d just have to train her slowly that vibrate = “go to human and get a treat/pets/love.” And usually they have a good distance range.
