Several spirals in a loose color wheel fight to take up space in the page. Each spiral is angular and blobby in their shape and watercolor effect with a thin white line defining each against the page. The red spiral in the bottom right punches into the middle. The red orange spiral counter clockwise squeezes in under the orange spiral to its left. The orange spiral curves over the dandelion yellow spiral to its left and the dandelion spiral curls under the orange. The bright yellow spiral is a pimple on the left side of the page, just above the base of the dandelion spiral. It is curl-to-curl with the more elongated spiral of the chartreuse spiral. Counterclockwise, the grass green spiral squeezes for space in the middle. The blue spiral squeezes down to the base of the green spiral from the top left corner. The indigo spiral descends from the top left corner of the page to come curl to curl with the red spiral. The spindly purple spiral curls under the indigo spiral counterclockwise. The orchid spiral juts down from the top middle of the page. To its left and from the top left corner, the magenta spiral curls under the orchid spiral. A bright pink spiral juts in under the magenta spiral to come curl to curl with the red one. A hibiscus pink fills in the angles of the right side of the page with its spiral, alongside the red spiral to its left.

I had fun writing the alt text for this one. Do you read the alt text? I would love to know.

Can I just say how fucking ridiculous it is that queer and nsfw art is more heavily regulated than the fucking plagiarism machine destroying our planet that is genAI

Colorful, whimsy florals cover the page & look as if they are all fighting f to take up the page. The page is full of colors: the petals and background are washes of orchid purples, vivid pinks, ocean blues and teals while the outlines are solid oil pastel outlines that retain the integrity of color. Most of the flowers are outlined in multiple colors, making the colors stand out against the background.

The more I look at this #sketchbook #mixedmedia piece in #oilpastel and #watercolor the more I love it. Turns out color theory works???

Also not working on something specific leaves room to just play with my #art supplies. If I leave my watercolors next to where I watch tv, I find myself picking them up and just playing with the colors and shapes in new ways.

Mercury retrograde as a time to finish things is a switch in focus that is time bound enough to really focus my attention on what has been left open that I don’t want to fully abandon. Hoping to curtail some of ambient guilt/ shame from looking at what’s half done & clear energy for new projects.

As an astrologer with ADHD, I’m trying mercury retrograde in a new way: I’m slowing down on new projects & actively looking at projects I’ve left unfinished to be revised at this time, and I think it’s working!

A tiny little floral doodle. I try and find the shapes in the painting and then embellish from there.

I’m using this energy to finish projects that have been in my brain & to take extra space to be tired. I question my perfectionist tendencies and approach conflict with as open a heart as possible. I hope I get to connect with old friends (one of my favorite parts of mercury retrograde).

I like to think of this time as thou go current is changing. If you move your hand against a slow current, you see how the bottom silt gets stirred up against the flow. This is the energy of mercury retrograde: messy, murky, but also revealing/ unearthing what was skimmed over before.

If you can get curious and push past the urge to blame & shame—to investigate your relationships, conversations, and other investments of your life force: there is space to grow. See how slow you can go and what discomforts reveal themselves.

Mercury retrograde can be really uncomfortable, but I really think that has more to do with a culture that punishes or blames a lack of clarity or connection, despises non-linearity, and individualizes blame, not the transit itself. Mercury retrograde has so much potential.

So annoyed that I feel better at the ocean than resting at home. Is it the dopamine of being at a joyful place, the engagement of my stabilizing muscles in sand and waves, or the connection to nature? If I don’t pin this feeling like a moth, will I ever understand how to find my wellness again?

Being “wrong” in the English language means two things:

-being incorrect, mistaken and:
-being morally bad, evil

We internalize that mistakes = bad person. They don’t.

Open yourself up to being wrong in the latter sense and make space for others to do the same. It’s a strength, not a weakness.

Any break from the monotony of the suburb is a relief. The sunset coming through as the storm rolled in … stunning.

a medieval style digital drawing of an androgynous brown-skinned knight on horseback on a hill, stabbing a long gold spear into a blue dragon on the ground. the knight has a gold halo behind their head and wears a suit of silver armor with a nonbinary flag striped tunic and a trans flag as a cape. their horse is white, with blue tack with trans pride trim. there is black gothic text at the top and bottom of the image reading “A world without trans people has never existed and never will.” there’s an ornate pale blue border around the image, filled with pink and blue scrollwork, gold hearts filled with colorful flowers, a smiley bat, two smiley moles, and two smiling frogs holding up trans flags.

I did some experimenting with oil pastels layered on top of watercolor last night! I think some future experiments might be in my future because I’m loving the way they layer! #art #painting #watercolor #oilpastels #sketchbook

A meme from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. In the top panel, one man labeled "literally every company" hands a plate labeled "AI" to a man labeled "me." In the bottom panel, the man labeled "me" nonchalantly tosses the plate down the hallway, discarding it with casual disdain while the first man watches.
