I listened to Paladin’s Grace. After falling in love with Nettle & Bone earlier this year I'm working my way through all of Kingfisher’s books.

This was a fun story to listen to while cleaning house. It was fast-paced and kept me engaged. T. Kingfisher always has the best characters, animals you want in your life, and great world-building.

Why is being a parent volunteer so hard? I have a new email this morning that isn't what we agreed on last night. This person seems to think I'm their employee & not a volunteer trying to help between work, kids, and my own education.

I forgot that intense parents were why I stopped volunteering.

And under this malevolent clock is a scythe plant holder? I don't think you're safe in that train station. 🎃💀

Thank you! Calling people is one of my least favorite adulting tasks, along with conflict, and I had to deal with both of them at the same time!

I'm going to reward myself by reading my library book until my family gets home.

I called another adult, on the actual telephone, to clarify a miscommunication so we can move forward together on this volunteer project for the High School.

I just adulted enough for the whole week, and I should get to move straight to the weekend and skip Wed-Thurs.

I love receiving book mail from The Broken Binding. When I saw they were releasing a special edition of King Sorrow by Joe Hill, I threw my money at them, and they did not disappoint.

Isabella Nagg & the Pot of Basil was a rather dark tale (some people label it as cozy, but I didn't get those vibes). The world was whimsical, the animal characters easy to love, but the people were unkind. The footnotes were funny, but too frequent. The ending was satisfying.

Youngest teenager officially turned 13. He’s REALLY into Pokémon. For his birthday, we surprised him and went to San Francisco game stores & got him new cards.

When I went to bed, he was happily watching Pokémon cartoons & sorting all of his new cards into his binder, pure joy on his little face.
