Run for Something Run for Something recruits and supports talented, passionate young leaders to run for state and local office - we’re building long-term power.

And there are also great national orgs that offer trainings as well.
runforsomething.net and emergeamerica.org are both great orgs that might have local branches, and can get you connected and answer questions.

And taking the plunge into an elected office, there are many great positions that need good, ethical, hard-working people. School board, city council, even water or fire commissioner.
And there might be good local resources that offer training and support like local Dem parties.

There are a lot of ways to start small, which is a great place to begin. And it's also a matter of what your starting point is. If you are very much starting at the beginning, volunteering for your local Parks Board or Planning Commission can get your feet wet, and you can see how govt functions.
