Has MPD enforced a single law broken by a federal agent? Even a parking ticket? Everybody liked O’Hara’s speech and StrongMayor’s F-Bombs, but I haven’t seen a single instance of “duty to intervene” in action. I have seen Minneapolitans arrested for resisting, but never ICE. Did I miss something?

We’ve sacrificed too much to protect each other from the federal government for this to be the opposition party response.

If they negotiate so much as a conciliatory press release without first securing the release and return of the kidnapped hostages and a withdrawal of federal agents from the state, it’s an unforgivable betrayal.

For any elected official who needs to hear this, I impart a lesson learned from the NFL:

Never forget

We had such a moving vigil on my corner. Held a long moment of silence, introduced ourselves to each other. I thought we might be standing out there on our own (it wasn’t advertised by anyone as a planned spot) but ended up in a circle with 20 other people who are all doing stuff for community.

I will just keep repeating. I have never never never seen anything like this. 30 years of reporting.
