H171, the NCGA's racist and homophobic anti-DEI proposal, is designed to facilitate the "heckler's veto," creating burdensome legal obligations for school districts.

They are doing this because schools are one of the only public institutions that foster cross-racial and cross-class solidarity

House Bill 192 (2025-2026 Session) - North Carolina General Assembly

HB192 filed today would raise NC teacher salaries, w/ $50K starting salary. Also restores master's degree pay for teachers. GOP-sponsored bill also calls for study of state funding teachers based on ADM instead of guaranteed positions. #nced #ncpol #ncga www.ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/2...

#ncpol journalists, I BEG of you not to accept this framing. NC ranks 49th for school funding effort. We have *plenty* of money for teacher raises. It's sitting in the bank accounts of corporations and wealthy NCians due to the past decade of regressive tax cuts. We can readily afford teacher raises

You may not like it, but Leah's right. There's a reason the Prodigal Son is a parable in almost every culture. when someone experiencing cognitive dissonance comes to you, you have two choices: embrace them, and win them over forever; or reject them, ensuring they never again question their beliefs.

North Carolinian here. There’s a long history of state democrats getting elected into positions like attorney general and governor, but in my lifetime, I think we’ve only voted for a democrat president once (2008).

I’ve been hoping this would happen. There’s big enough names and lots of voters who could follow. I can’t figure out why there’s no movement that direction.
