Trying to become a game designer.
I don't know anyone personally who genuinely likes the current development of artificial intelligence. No one.

People are now thinking twice before making FOSS. Since the AI-Corporations could just scrape your project and use it for their own gains. Makes you think if only evil groups of people intend to push AI to everyone.
Heyho! I finally made a game again and let me tell you: I feel alive!!! Thanks to @beanzoexe.bsky.social for supporting and motivating me along the way!

A possible explanation of what exactly happened between Steam, Internet Merchant Account, and Card Companies.

It's really long, and I'm not used to BlueSky, but let me try to copy paste the content.
Visa and Mastercard released their public statements on censorship!
Visa and Mastercard are pretending they don't make any judgments on legal purchases, but Collective Shout CLEARLY told us they successfully pressured payment processors.
KEEP CALLING! IT'S WORKING!
when these companies try to claim this is about whatβs legal or not, theyβre lying. none of the games that were removed from steam or itch broke the law. financial companies are making subjective decisions based on what might inconvenience them

"...follows standards based on the rule of law."
Mastercard I beg you please list out your standards and laws the NSFW Artists broke by posting games!!!
Mastercard statement. See: https://www.mastercard.com/us/en/news-and-trends/press/2025/august/clarifying-recent-headlines-on-gaming-content.html
"...we require merchants to have appropriate controls to ensure Mastercard cards cannot be used for unlawful purchases, including illegal adult content."
How was the content on Itch illegal or unlawful??? No way they evaluated every NSFW game on itch as "unlawful".
Clarifying recent headlines on gaming content Mastercard has not evaluated any game or required restrictions of any activity on game creator sites and platforms, contrary to media reports and allegations. Our payment network follows standards based on the rule of law. Put simply, we allow all lawful purchases on our network. At the same time, we require merchants to have appropriate controls to ensure Mastercard cards cannot be used for unlawful purchases, including illegal adult content.
This is a pathetic statement and Iβm begging every journalist to rip it to shreds

Either by monetary or lifetime value. Do not become a blind consumer. If you feel like you are, start working on an idea and create. By doing so you will rewire your brain in a way you couldn't imagine.

You're going to start hearing a lot of talk about moving in to crypto as a way to bypass payment processors and what I need all of you to understand is that Anybody Saying This Is Trying To Scam You. They Have Potentially Millions Of Dollars In Crypto They Can't Cash Out Unless You Buy It From Them.

it's remarkable that I'm still seeing people who go "well now I can't trust itch specifically"
that's going to be every store. that's every store that exists. that's not an itch-specific thing, and with itch, you actually have a fighting chance, because the people who run the store are on your side
Sometimes I play with the idea about my life being a video game. But then I feel bad about it because I am not trying hard enough to maximize my "stats". But that's not life. It's not about optimizing. It's about experiencing it.
In short: Play games for the experience, not for the numbers.
A labelled trolley problem diagram showing what will happen if Itch's owners choose to comply or not with payment processors like Mastercard and Visa. Option A is to comply, sacrificing NSFW game devs. Option B is to sacrifice themselves, the site, and everyone else reliant on the store for income AND all the people from Option A.
Because some people still do not get it, I have produced this professional and detailed diagram explaining the options available to Itch.io upon being threatened by payment processors:
Option A: Comply, sacrificing some NSFW content.
Option B: Do not comply, sacrificing EVERYONE ELSE + Option A.
@bellular.bsky.social explains the whole situation quite good. I recommend watching the video in order to get informed.
It's only people like us who can do something about this whole ordeal. So let's get informed together and do something about it.

I don't understand why people are mad at Itch and Steam/Valve.
The payment processors and the groups pushing them to ban video games are the real culprits. Not even Valve has the power to go against the payment processors. There is no reason to be angry at those platforms. They have no power.
Nah that's crazy to do... *like*
