In the far future of star trek: academy they've forgotten the rare technology of "self destruct to stop them from stealing your tech." In fairness it was only mentioned in dozens of episodes of 90s trek.

People supporting those policies call themselves centrists and think dems are too far left.

All available evidence shows voters just call themselves centrists and accuse parties of being extreme without paying any attention to actual ideology.

Look at polling on universal healthcare, ubi, raising taxes on billionaires, ending wars etc. Most left wing policies are extremely popular.

Democratic fundraising need not and should not depend on the oligarchs. If democrats manage to win big despite their leadership (unlikely in my view) it will be a hollow victory because dem leaders are failures. I know this because it's what happened after dems won in 2018 and 2020.

They're low turnout. Low turnout elections favor highly motivated voters who tend to be highly partisan. It's a problem for dems that they are only up 5 in the generic ballot despite trump's approvals and scandals being horrible.

That's manifestly incorrect. Dems are registering historic disapproval with their party and the generic ballot is in their favor but not nearly as much as it should be with a historically unpopular president (who dem leaders managed to lose to.)

My strategy is to kick out leaders who have repeatedly failed and who do not even have the same beliefs at the dem voters they claim to represent.

I think people should vote for democrats in the general and the leftmost candidate in the primaries. The problem isnt who you or I think people should vote for, the problem is people aren't voting for democrats. I am interested in solving that problem, you are interested in complaining.

If Dems know the outside groups they rely on are bleeding, they should make better choices.

But some outside groups are doing well. DSA just hit 100k members for the first time.

Youth are not stuipd, neither are dem donors. They know their leadership failed & they rightfully insist on new leadership.

If dems are actually worried about this they need to kick out their leaders.

The thing about conservatism is it's a very diverse and complicated ideology but you can still pretty much explain it as a scheme to advance sex crimes

Also the tech elite alliance with democrats was based on democrats' continuous support for tax cuts and deregulation. Bernie's near success and the rise of the labor-left made them lose faith in that support.

It only took executions in the streets for dems to fight this. Unfortunately they couldn't have known before voting to fund ICE and the government repeatedly that the GOP had promised to kill people in the streets.

Your leaders have failed you so badly that trump is president and has a gestapo. Pathetically, you still make excuses for them for free.

My problem with the latest episode of starfleet academy is that i don't think speech and debate is good and think participating in it for so many years made me a worse person

If we're evaluating star trek on how believable it is, there are much bigger problems.

I think it's possible to solve social problems and like having a show that reflects that belief. If I want a show about flawed human nature, that's every single other scifi show there is.

This is the very first trek show (I've seen) to just directly cite a 21st century American law.

Other trek shows had the writing chops to invent a new criminal code and legal system.

I think dem governors need to be figuring out where all the big red buttons are and preparing to push them.
