First, the voters let us down. The mainstream media contributed to that and continues to fail us. Congress is failing to do its job and keep the president in check. The Supreme Court cannot be trusted. We, the people, are going to have to be the ones that save the day.

Fewer than 1 in 10 of our Congressional races are considered competitive - in a country that's politically more or less 50-50.

This is madness. And it doesn't have to be this way.

The combination of out of control gerrymandering and the flood of dark money after the citizens united decision has corrupted our politics to the point that I'm not sure it can be repaired without a major overhaul of campaign finance laws.
