"View from the Spindle", an homage to my first Caves of Qud character to beat the game. he had an icy fungal infection on his left hand but i think the composition might've been better if it wasn't there... but thats my guy. looking back at qud north to south was fun to imagine #cavesofqud

loved this guy. i didn't know they had such... fingery... fingers. i really liked doing a dry fan brush for the tail though i wish i did some kind of background wash. i also can't find the ref...

this was a fun thing on a video that started with putting the paint directly on the canvas brushing in a circle keeping the colors on either side of the brush. i cut a circle from pieces of tape stuck together to keep the moon unpainted, though i don't think my craters made it look very moony

another youtube video, this turned out really well. though i think maybe it isn't clear the foliage on the right is close rather than reflected. also i think the bridge reflection could be wobblier, maybe run some lines through with a wet brush a little or something

my dad texted me this picture he took of a documentary one morning and asked me to paint it, so i did. i think i must've started from the top instead of bottom because its got extra body on the bottom. the shading of the fur doesn't blend at all. also the teeth kinda aren't there, or the tongue lol

finally, a good maggie. though the fur is too bright, maybe if she was in the sun it'd look like that. and looking at the ref again her head is too wide, the right side of the face should be "closer" to the nose and mouth based on the angle she's looking. i'm proud of the ears!

i think this was from a picture i saw on here, but i can't find it at the moment. the background definitely should've been lighter and more... desaturated? since the point was the colorful leaf. also was bothered by the pencil lead smearing with the water in the brush from the hand sketch

originally the subject was a power line transmission tower behind my apartment and i started sketching all its crisscrossing bars and thought "i would rather not" but the clouds were great in the photo. though i painted them too uniform instead of having them cover each other up, is my takeaway
