We don't like content for the sake of it either, we mainly mean updates adding actual substance, more experiences to the game(like Rain World's DLCs), but not forcing you to go through them, kinda like how some games have a new game+, but you have the choice to not do it.

Also one reason for paid DLCs sometimes is when a developer adds a whole second game's worth of content to the game, and would like some compensation for the extra work. Than again, we guess they could have just released it in smaller patches at a time rather than as one huge package.

So if bonus content was added through an update and was toggleable, rather than stuff you need to download manually, would that be fine in your book?
