At minimum they’ve shown they can pull a bullpen together, which is what good teams do.

Sure maybe they stay depth guys and they keep them that way. Don’t think many would have guess that they’d be getting where they are with Quantrill & Junk.

Still think Meyer can be pretty good but that’s also assuming his poor starts this year line up with when his hip started bothering him.

Probably, I mean depends on the return. But they have Meyer, Weathers, Garrett healthy next year. Mazur, Gusto in AAA. Snelling has looked really good lately.

I think it’s clear you build around Eury. So they can be a part of that but there are also some good pieces coming soon.

You might remember when it was a big deal when he hit 102 multiple times in the minors earlier this year?

It was against a guy who hit a homer off him earlier in the game. Hahaha

Probably a good thing but also gonna cause stress if you’re keeping an eye out for velo dips.

He’s varied his velo a lot in the minors, will ramp up for the middle of the order etc.

They’ve made some comments on inning limits so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was planned ahead.

Along with something similar moving forward so he’s good for the playoffs.

Haven’t really heard any speculation on this but I do think that AZ & MIL would be a fun trading pair.

MIL pitching depth for Naylor/Suarez.

AZ can cover at bats (Lawlar, Smith, etc), MIL pushes their chips in on an improved offense, AZ gets younger SP depth they lack in the minors.

Postseason could be one & done so I think he’ll end up between 140-150 during the season. Deal with it as it happens.

Guess he’ll end up starting 1x a week, wouldn’t be shocked at a 6 man rotation for a bit either.

McClanahan coming back, guess they could end up trading someone like Bradley too.

No idea what his methods are but people generally understate that players have agency in their own training decisions.

Especially for anyone who assumes this one drill or training method will solve injuries or whatnot.

They’ve had a lot of positive additions on the player dev side in the last few years. Which should help

You can say the relationship soured after they signed Bregman, or the moving position conversations. But players move positions as they age all the time.

I just don’t see why Breslow has to keep Devers at third because the previous front office said so.

Because it’s a different front office. He signed the extension under Bloom in Jan ‘23. Breslow was hired in Oct ‘23.

It’s also the reason no-trade clauses exist. If it’s that important to a player they can negotiate it.

New front offices come in and clear out the coaching staff all the time. Or ‘bad’ contracts get released before they’re over. Same thing happens in business. You can say it sucks but that’s what it is.

Player evaluations change quickly and some front offices are going to act quickly on it.

You just can’t run a front office by saying you can’t change anything the previous one committed too.

Both probably but you can read between the lines to see the relationship seemed pretty bad now.

Probably enough skill red flags that you see a sharp drop off after his peak.
