This the skeleton key that explains the entire left-of-center political and informational environment. There is no social reward for ever saying anything nice about a mainline Democrat, so no one does. As a result, baseless antipathy towards the party completely pervades the environment.

"We looked more intensely at the law" is a dead giveaway she had never read the statute prior to the grand jury, since reading it one single time would have told her she couldn't indict for this. Assuming she can read, of course (no assumptions, no judgment).

I know it's not a satisfying answer but the truth is probably just that she's dumb and most KSP officers are too. While the gov appoints the KSP commissioner, he doesn't walk around and influence every decision by every officer at post. Plus cops never know the law, they rely on prosecutors for that

Basically, she still has a job because people out here almost always elect absolute imbeciles and there's no process to remove them until the next election (an opportunity the public almost never takes, we love re-electing the dumbest mfs you've ever seen over and over and over again)

Prosecutors are elected by the people and the governor has no role in hiring or firing them.

And even if he did, the prosecutor ultimately did the right thing by dismissing this charge under state law.

Biden was the most economically progressive president since LBJ at least, he pursued a full-employment economy at huge political risk, it worked spectacularly.

And what happened is that the entire progressive universe decided that he must not have done any of it, or else he would have been popular

My favorite bit is when someone in favor of gun control calls the fatal weapon in a mass shooting a "machine gun" and someone against gun control laughs and explains that it wasn't a machine gun because those were banned decades ago and that's why now almost nobody has them.
