But what's more important is to start thinking creatively about ways to fight back. This will mean doing things differently, like FINDING a way for blue states to withhold funds from the feds, rather than discounting the idea out of hand.

I'm not an accountant or tax policy expert. But off the top of my head ---

States with a blue trifecta pass a law requiring residents to submit their federal taxes to the state, which the state will then forward to the federal government on the taxpayer's behalf.

E.P.A. Canceled $20 Million Flood Protection Grant to Alaska, Parts of Which Just Flooded The remote village of Kipnuk planned to use the money to protect against flooding. On Sunday, it was inundated.

Months before catastrophic floods swept through an Alaska Native village on Sunday, the Trump administration canceled a $20 million grant meant to protect the community from extreme flooding. At the time, the EPA administrator said he was eliminating "wasteful DEI and Environmental Justice grants."

Tim Walz: "It's almost unimaginable that he's got Milei in there, giving him $20 billion, so that they can undercut us and China can buy their soybeans from them. And now China has learned they can replace our markets."

I understand that state and local LEOs aren't supposed to interfere with federal LEOs.

OTOH, when ICE and DHS are routinely endangering the well-being of Illinoisans, doesn't local law enforcement have a responsibility to intervene?
