The event has been organized, and will be hosted, by Tim Ellis, a rave DJ and campaign organizer based in Toronto with several years of experience building community networks. Tim is an immigrant from the US and passionate about building up his adopted home.

Finally, we'll brainstorm what kinds of activities may make sense for building civil defence capacity here in Canada, and what sorts of things people may have an interest in pursuing, before wrapping up by giving people a way to stay connected and act on next steps.

Eric will share learnings about how other countries prepare for threats of all kinds, with a view to what lessons Canada might draw and with special attention to how our ally Ukraine has successfully held off fascist Russia, and how the Nordic countries approach comprehensive security.

Next, we'll hear from Eric Nicholls, who has an academic background in international relations and security studies, including a Masters degree from the U of Cambridge, and work experience with the Human Security Centre at UBC, a think tank studying armed conflict around the world.
