Thanks for all your thoughts. Many of them align with my own and those of others I've spoken to. There seems to be a mourning for the loss of physics and science in EO!

Fair play to #foss4guk 2025: I will be giving a presentation called "Remote Sensing Sucks". I have my opinions, but what gets you worked up about modern EO and RS? It could be anything at all. Let me know and I might reference it in the slides :-) #earthobservation #geospatial #gis #rssucks

In a UK newspaper opinion piece today, Matt Ridley (climate confuser) says: "winter nighttime temperatures have risen faster than summer daytime ones"

Um, no, not for the UK which the article is about. In fact, the hottest summer days are warming 2x faster than coldest winter nights. Sigh.

Forget Reform and Tory voters. A lost cause.

With them out of the picture, look at those massive ratios in favour of rejoining the EU.

Low hanging electoral fruit? It's lying on the ground!

All it takes is the vision to seize it.

I'm considering getting #drone pilot certified in the UK. Any software I use would need to work on Linux. I've found qgroundcontrol.com and www.opendronemap.org. Does anyone have any experience of these for commercial jobs and/or know whether using these would affect getting certified?

The Today programme asked me about zonal pricing, I told them it was a terrible idea. How does it make sense to fragment our energy market. Tens of millions of Britons could end up paying more for their energy than they do now.
