They all really do hate people.

Instead of funding the justice system properly, they only want to build more jails and prisons. There are meaningful ways to monitor people on bail but just like funding for courts, they don't want to spend the money.

You think what they are doing is a distraction? Jfc, that is the main course while everyone is chirping about epstein.

I'd be shocked if the SCoC hears this appeal.

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.

Shalom Small Homes Kemptville

They just built 4 tiny home units for 55+ rentals. While I applaud these initiatives, nothing will change until we stop treating housing as a corporate commodity/investment.

A shitty article that provides zero context about the lying grifters who own the farm.

"Poilievre evaded questions about whether protecting Canada's food supply is important." should be the lede.

They'll be using it for far more than targeting people for deportation.

We've been screaming from the rooftop for months, while you talk about the next election that's not happening, and schedule protests when it's convenient. In the meantime, you are threatening our sovereignty and trying your best to tank our economy.

The legal system...are you that much in denial? A court order is going to do what exactly, and who is going to enforce it?

Unfortunate that Canada is still "greenlighting" travel to the U.S. "Normal security precautions" is naive. At minimum it should be changed to yellow, if not orange. What will it take?

There are no other countries in the world that have routine gov't shutdowns like this. American exceptionalism at it's finest.

Auction listings from the RCMP for a 4 month old Hanoverian stallion and a 12 year old Hanoverian mare.

Auction listings from the RCMP for a 4 month old Hanoverian stallion and a 12 year old Hanoverian mare.

The GCSurplus site has some interesting items at times. Browsing today and saw this ๐Ÿ‘€.

The RCMP is auctioning off some horses. Foals that don't meet colour standards; mares/geldings not suitable for the Musical Ride program.

There's plenty of useful things you can do with AI. But AI is (as Princeton's Arvind Narayanan and Sayash Kapoor, authors of AI Snake Oil put it), a normal technology:

https://knightcolumbia.org/content/ai-as-normal-technology

That doesn't mean "nothing to see here, move on." It means that AI isn't the bow-wave of "impending superintelligence." Nor is it going to deliver "humanlike intelligence."

It's a grab-bag of useful (sometimes very useful) tools that can sometimes make workers' lives better, when workers get to decide how and when they're used.

The most important thing about AI isn't its technical capabilities or limitations. The most important thing is the investor story and the ensuing mania that has teed up an economical catastrophe that will harm hundreds of millions or even billions of people. AI isn't going to wake up, become superintelligent and turn you into paperclips โ€“ but rich people with AI investor psychosis are almost certainly going to make you much, much poorer.

The conclusion (making it clear this is extreme skepticism about AI economics and hype, not the use case for the *technology* in some circumstances)

Is there one reporter in Canada who will ask Pierre Poilievre,
โ€œWhat the fuck are you talking about?โ€ I doubt it.

Canada Post โ€œlostโ€ 1 billion dollars last year?

How about, โ€œit cost Canadians 1 billion dollars to have a national postal serviceโ€ which works out to costing about $25 a year per person (population of Canada in 2024 = 40 million). Seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me.
