Let’s just say folks expect the acting BLS commissioner will be fired before markets close tomorrow.

Between the spring of 2006 and the end of 2007, there was a substantial increase in the unemployment rate for young college graduates.

The cause, of course, was a big advance in artificial intelligence technology.

Will this Sterling Anderson guy allow LIDAR? That seemed to have been the single largest Tesla blunder on their β€˜FSD’ - Musk prohibited LIDAR.

US big tech has had a really great run but the future is far from certain. I expect non-US to step up especially with the help they are getting from the US self inflicted tariff/immigration damage.

From talking to voters I know, immigration is issue #1 and why Trump won his primary and general election. Even immigrants who became US citizens voted for Trump on the immigration issue. Democrats need to catch a clue!

MAGA never allows facts to hinder them. They have lies, distortions, misinformation, myths, false narratives, and a dozen cognitive biases to shield themselves.

The share of CPI items rising faster than 4% has ticked up recently and is near 40% ... one of the reasons policymakers have been apprehensive to say inflation is contained. #EconSky #Inflation

China will retaliate and they have the cards; we don’t.

More big intrusive government from MAGA. This is how you harm the American Tech industry. Silver platter to the rest of the world.

Trump is turning the USA into Russia, Authoritarian now with a shitty economy to follow. Just like Russia.

This is exactly the kind of person I expect Trump to nominate. 2026 will be an interesting year if fake numbers and a compromised Fed.

Tariffs in both directions. Make Americans pay more and make American exports cost more. Dumb and dumber.

If you are to persuade, appeal to interest and not to reason. - Benjamin Franklin

It’s like Democrats forgot what human nature is. Harris promised democracy, rule of law, equal rights, reproductive rights; Trump promised no immigrants, low prices, high paying jobs, anti-affirmative action

Great. Now evolution will shrink our brains. Probably already started with the internet.

And just a quick check on Gemini shows a positive spin for the GOP. Nothing about regressive tariff taxes, Jan6, or government’s role in reproductive rights, separation of church and state, etc…

It was a straw man from the beginning. A few folks said it appeared to be a dog whistle but no widespread outrage.

The Fed expertly navigated Covid avoiding a long harsh recession and then engineered a miraculous soft landing post-Covid stimulus and supply chain disruptions. Problem is Trump blew up the runway with his tariffs and accelerating deficits.

Every accusation from MAGA is an admission of what they did, are doing, or will do in the future. Seriously.

A compromised Fed is something to keep monitoring. I suppose in the most extreme case, the Fed can make the threat to buy distressed assets like they did during Covid (or even carry out the threat this time) to keep stocks and bonds propped up if a recession, inflation, or both hit with tariffs.

Just let Hitler take all of continental Europe, he would have left Great Britain alone. That’s the flawed logic of these Idiots who have Nazi sympathies. Oh and how dare Great Britain bomb German cities after Germany bombed British cities.

09.08.2025 12:32 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

When Covid hit and stocks & bonds skyrocketed during layoffs, investors concluded the government and Fed would protect businesses with stimulus, giveaways, ZIRP, and a Fed put to buy anything distressed. I understood it, but now? What is the thesis of stocks going up with tariffs starting soon?
