My bill brings greater transparency and fairness to California’s justice system. This law helps build a more accountable system by improving access to information that can support sentence reviews and strengthen trust in the post-conviction process.

AB 43 SIGNED INTO LAW!

CA protects over 2,400 miles of wild and scenic rivers—and now, those protections are permanent. AB 43, signed into law, removes the sunset clause, ensuring that if federal protections are rolled back, CA's state protections will stay strong to safeguard our rivers forever.

California is proud to be home to 15.6 million Latinos—the largest population in the nation! This Latino Heritage Month, we honor the Latino community’s cultura, strength & contributions, and we continue the fight for policies that uplift & protect Latino families.

AB 1036 enhances fairness in our criminal legal system and helps correct wrongful convictions more efficiently. Providing broader access to evidence will not only prevent innocent individuals from remaining incarcerated but will also strengthen public confidence in the integrity of our legal system.

AB 1319 maintains California’s authority to enforce protections for endangered species that may be trafficked in the state, regardless of changes to federal laws.

AB 1050 seeks to facilitate the redevelopment of vacant commercial centers by extending existing law for removing covenants, conditions, and restrictions on a property that preclude housing to mixed-use and mixed-income housing development.

Today, on the solemn anniversary of September 11, we pause to remember the lives lost in the attacks of 2001 - mothers, fathers, neighbors, colleagues & the first responders who ran towards danger to save others.

We honor their courage & sacrifice & stand in solidarity.

We must never forget.

To address California’s energy affordability challenges, the CA Legislature passed AB 44 to commercialize virtual power plants. It will allow electricity retail provides to reduce their forward capacity requirements using distributed energy resources by meeting criteria developed by the CEC.

Next stop: Gov’s desk! #AB321, the #BIDAct, passed out of the #CALeg. This bill would allow judges to review ALL relevant evidence before deciding if a “wobbler” is a misdemeanor or felony. Proud to co-sponsor w/Californians for Safety & Justice + big thx to author @asmnickschultz.bsky.social!
