Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) was founded over 25 years ago to memorialize the murder of a transgender woman. Since last year’s TDOR, we’ve continued to lose members of our TGI community- and even one life lost is one too many.

The Trump Administration’s removal of LGBTQ suicide prevention programs this summer was a disgrace.

I just signed legislation requiring student ID cards in public middle schools, high schools, and colleges to include the Trevor Project’s crisis and suicide prevention hotline.

In addition to serving on our Caucus, she’s the Senate Education Chair and has championed monumental legislation to protect our immigrant community members from targeting by the Trump Administration.

Congratulations to Justice Martin Jenkins on his retirement later this month! As the first openly LGBTQ+ justice on the CA Supreme Court, he served with professionalism and applied the law faithfully and justly. ⚖️
