"It is kind of, in a way, trying to create a second class of U.S. citizens" - for many of us who immigrated here and became citizens, the message is clear.

They diagnose cancers while still treatable. They help women decide what birth control works for them. They help those working through mental health challenges.
Defunding them just harms people who already struggle to find places to get care.
The piece of code I am the most proud of is called Dupliclef. I wrote it for my dad to be able to save his USB keys and hard-drives. He is old school, but he religiously preserves his data and emails locally by cliquing on the small icon in his Dock. The script then detects the hard drives and keys.

Speaking of, we just published our work on UDA (Unified Data Abstraction) at Netflix.
bsky.app/profile/alex...
This post introduces the foundations of UDA (Unified Data Architecture) as a knowledge graph, connecting domain models to data containers through mappings, and grounded in an in-house metamodel, or model of models, called Upper.

We have this super cool new data architecture in Netflix Content and wanted to share it today but we had a technical problem, so the article will only be shared on the Netflix Engineering Blog tomorrow. I hope.🤞

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.
They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.
Many graph-shaped data problems should be solved using a knowledge graph approach, not a graph db. But graph db vendors sure like to conflate the two.

An extra 79k is not even noticeable for them. It’s less than what they pay in fees to asset managers.
But $79k would be life changing to anyone in the bottom 80%.
New, from me:
The DOGE project was sold as tech disruptors who would revolutionize government. To try to understand why DOGE has failed, I point to lessons that other technologists who worked in government learned, but DOGE ignored. 🧵

This is what oligarchy is about.
While planning massive cuts to Medicaid, the Republicans are proposing to provide another $235 billion in tax breaks to the top 0.2% of households through an increase in the estate tax exemption.
The very rich get richer. The poor lose health care. Outrageous.
THE most important political issue facing us now is our corrupt campaign finance system & Citizens United.
As long as Musk, AIPAC & crypto money can buy politicians, we’re not living in a democracy.
We must end billionaire control of our politics and publicly fund elections.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.
