Iti rearea, teitei kahikatea ka taea!
Even the small rearea bird can reach the highest Kahikatea tree. We can all reach our potential and through collective action we can be stronger. Kia kaha te reo Māori. Ka whawhai tonu mātou. Ake, ake, ake.

Anyone need a groove for their Saturday night - or any time you need to elevate your vibes, put this in your ears!

AH! - good point, that actually changes everything!
Sorry I overlooked that *stoned*
I'm wracking my brain trying to think of something to compare and I got nothing on that scale of experience, no.
Kind of surprising, surely there MUST be something...
Unfortunately though - I can never quite relate to this, because everything I hear is monotone. I'm deaf in one ear.
That's why I related more to the mono-to-colour transition.
mmmm - It might.
If I were to make a similar comparison, we could compare playing the text-based Oregon Trail by yourself, to playing Starfield online with thousands of people in real-time.
That's a huge sensory advance.
I dunno dude - my generation did see the change from BBS boards to the Internet on computers, to the internet on a pocket-sized phone.
That might be all we have so far, though.
Except /maybe/ for the change from tape to cd to mp3 - but even that's a bit of a stretch.
It ain't all sunshine and self-improvement mind you, I work in insurance and talking to wealthy folk and landlords has become MUCH harder.
I feel an edge of disdain pushing through the professional veneer of my voice - and honestly, I hope they feel it.
Because I know what they greedily voted for.
It was ever-so-briefly self defense.
That quickly turned into vengeance.
Which escalated into all-out bloodthirst and genocide.
An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.
Free Palestine!
Any youtube/website recommendations for Te Tiriti and Te Reo education much appreciated.
Kia ora :)
This incoming clusterfuck of a government and it's emboldened bigot fanboys only inspire me to be a better Kiwi.
You know what they say - be the change you want to see.
So I'll be:
-Increasing my Te Reo efforts
-Deepening my knowledge of Te Tiriti
-Involved in more activism.
ngai Aotearoa ahau.
@emmascrivener.bsky.social Haere mai e hoa! nau mai ki Rangi Kikorangi!
Welcome to Bluesky :)
It's like how Twitter once was - here's hoping no petulant manbaby buys and wrecks this one, eh?
If you look at #feeds on the left, search up Kikorangi and AoNZ Politics if you want feeds of Kiwi posts!
Goddamn Twitter seems to ONLY make me angry now.
Need a Bluesky palette-cleanser.
truth!
My ex is a masseuse, and as someone who used to run stupid amounts of miles - I was blessed to have her and her talent just on-hand.
Almost worth all the narcissistic sociopathy...
lol jk, still not worth it :)
Today I learned about IBNUs.
My life runs on IBNUs right now...

I can still remember the tv3 theme song:
*sings*
"T-V-3 come home, to the feeling..."
I love AC/DC :)

More than machinery, we need humanity.
More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.

"Greed has poisoned men's souls. Has barricaded the world with hate.
Has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in.
Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.
Our knowledge has made us cynical - our cleverness, hard and unkind...
Classic Simpsons (pre-S10) are the BEST Simpsons.
S04 alone has Kamp Krusty, Mr Plow, Marge vs the Monorail, and Whacking Day!
Been procrastinating seeing how fiddly it might be to type macrons but was surprised at how basic it was!
He mahi pai noa iho! - piece of cake!
With the racist dickheads buying their way into government, I'm redoubling my Te Reo efforts - starting with typing it correctly and speaking it more :)

20.10.2023 23:16 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yeah I'm in Tuakau, I was hoping there'd be a Greens option when I heard Labour pulled out but nope.
It surprised me that this is a "National stronghold" - but I guess it's all the farms and whatnot.
Which is WEIRD because NATIONAL caused the M Bovis outbreak and LABOUR fixed it.
Bizarro world.
honestly I never liked "Aotearoarian", I would just say "Kiwi from Aotearoa" - but even that sounds janky. And it lacks the poetic nuance that ngai Aotearoa ahau has.
20.10.2023 23:01 — 👍 9 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0That sucks!
Basically halving the voting power of left-bloc voters out here (it's my electorate).
Doesn't seem very democratic.
They should allow people to vote for a different electorate as a special vote, or something...
Love it. Kia ora for this :)
